Meet The Band
Singer/Songwriter
Jose Munoz
"Music has found its way to me all throughout my life. Dancing in a Mexican Folkloric Dance Group, Flor de Corazon, located in Cicero, IL from the ages of 6 to 19. Playing the Tenor Saxophone from ages 12 to 20 and playing lead tenor in a Jazz Ensemble. Singing in the Lyric Opera of Chicago's 2009/2010 Tosca at the age of 13. Singing in the Liturgical choir at Dominican University between the ages 19-21. Participating in retreats gave me clarity as to who I am and what my mission is. Being able to connect with people through a verse, melody or feeling is my goal. We're all on this Earth together. By listening to the music we create, I know we can all find a small moment to live in harmony."

Kayla Jackson is a 27 year old singer/songwriter/guitarist from Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. since receiving her first guitar as a high school freshman, she's enjoyed growing her skill, repertoire and musical community. For Kayla, creating music and the friendships that follow is a form of self care. During the height of the pandemic stages and gigs fell quiet for many musicians and artists. Kayla is grateful for the opportunity to share the gift of music and community for BLAC's Multicultural Art Fair.

"I have been playing music since 2008 with the main goal bein to write songs and learn guitar for accompaniment. Since then, music has been a huge influence on my life. Music has become a way for me to communicate and make some of my closes and dearest friends. Music is social, it brings people together. it doesn't matter what your background is, you can always connect by making music with someone. Music has also become part of my occupation as a senior living lifestyle coach. I love that I can share my talents with the seniors in my community. Besides this talented group, I am the lead singer and guitarists for my band "Modern Daybreak""

Arthur Wolf
"Music allows me to use tones and melodies to communicate emotions without the need for words. A lot of the time words don't truly capture how I'm feeling, so music is the perfect outlet and has always helped me through good times and bad."
Drummer
Michael Jacobson
"Music isn't just a hobby for me, music is a lifestyle. Although no one else in my family plays an instrument, music was always a constant in my household. I grew up sharing my parents' love for classic rock and was fortunate enough to be brought along to many legendary shows from a young age. Naturally, I started guitar lessons in the 4th grade but found my way to the drums after witnessing Stewart Copeland perform live with The Police. Ever since, music has been an essential source of mental stimulation, therapy and above all community. I have made some of the most important friendships and have produced some of the most exceptional memories of my life while performing music and being a devoted fan."
Dawning Moon will be performing live at the
